Western Macaroni image

Western Macaroni was one of my favorite recipes as a kid.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg macaroni and cheese
1 lb ground beef
1/4 c diced onion
1/4 c diced green bell pepper
6 oz tomato paste
16 oz whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 c water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Prepare macaroni and cheese as directed on the box.
  • 2. Brown ground beef, diced onion, and diced bell pepper in large pot.
  • 3. Drain grease from ground beef mixture and pour back into large pot.
  • 4. Add macaroni and cheese, whole kernel corn, tomato paste, and water. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 5. Heat on stove top until hot.

I accidentally used sharp cheddar cheese instead of mild cheddar cheese. It was still good, but it was a bit too spicy for my kids.
