Amish Six Layer Casserole image

Just love Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch recipes

2 c raw hamburger
2 c raw potatoes, sliced
2 c celery, chopped
1/2 c onion, chopped
2 tsp salt (or less)
1/4 tsp pepper
1 c green pepper, diced
2 c tomatoes, canned
thin slices of onion, (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Grease a casserole dish. Sprinkle each layer with salt and pepper before adding the next layer. Place potatoes in the bottom of the casserole
  • 2. Add the layer of celery. Add the layer of hamburger. Add the layer of onions. Add the green pepper.
  • 3. Pour the tomatoes over the mixture. Bake for 2 hours at 350 degrees.
