Apple-Cranberry Dessert image

Bake someone happy with a cranberry-studded apple dessert crowned with a crunchy topping.

6 cups sliced peeled apples (about 6 medium)
2/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2/3 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
Vanilla ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, mix apples, cranberries, cinnamon, syrup and lemon juice. Spoon into ungreased 8-inch square baking dish.
  • In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients except ice cream with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender, juices are bubbly and topping is golden brown. Cool about 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
