Steps:
- Cut bacon into 1/3's. Wrap 1/3 cut bacon strips around each lil' smokie and secure with a toothpick. Place one layer of bacon wrapped smokies on large heavy cookie sheet. Cover completely with brown sugar. Cover with foil. At this point you can refrigerate overnight if you need them for the next day. Bake at 375 covered for 30-40 minutes. Remove foil and turn oven to broil. WATCH carefully. Let broil approx. 3-5 minutes until bacon is crisp. Remove from oven and pour juice from pan into crockpot. Be careful , I put the foil back on leaving 1 corner open. Using hot pads, pour juice into crockpot. Remove foil and turn smokies over and broil 2-3 minutes on other side just until crisp. Remove and put in crockpot on WARM. Make plenty because these disappear quick!
