Provided by LADONMANK

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 lb bacon
1 (16 ounce) packages Little Smokies sausages
brown sugar
1/4 cup water or pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Cut bacon into 1/3's. Wrap 1/3 cut bacon strips around each lil' smokie and secure with a toothpick. Place one layer of bacon wrapped smokies on large heavy cookie sheet. Cover completely with brown sugar. Cover with foil. At this point you can refrigerate overnight if you need them for the next day. Bake at 375 covered for 30-40 minutes. Remove foil and turn oven to broil. WATCH carefully. Let broil approx. 3-5 minutes until bacon is crisp. Remove from oven and pour juice from pan into crockpot. Be careful , I put the foil back on leaving 1 corner open. Using hot pads, pour juice into crockpot. Remove foil and turn smokies over and broil 2-3 minutes on other side just until crisp. Remove and put in crockpot on WARM. Make plenty because these disappear quick!

I followed the recipe exactly and the smokies turned out dry and overcooked. I'm not sure what went wrong.

These smokies were a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would have preferred them with less brown sugar.
