Baked Cheese & Broccoli Patties Recipe - (4.6/5) image

Provided by ceyana

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, chopped
1 (12-ounce) bag frozen broccoli, defrosted
3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Heat the oil in a small pan over medium heat, add in the garlic and onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until onions are garlic are tender, set aside to cool. Add the broccoli to a kitchen towel. Wrap the towel around the broccoli and squeeze out the extra moisture. (That step is not as important when you use fresh broccoli, its just a way of getting all the extra moisture out of frozen broccoli, you don't want it to be real wet) Place the drained broccoli into a large bowl, add the onion and garlic and mix gently. To the same bowl, add the panko, the cheeses, eggs, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix together and form into patties, place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Flip and bake for another 15 minutes or until browned and crispy.

I'm not a big fan of broccoli, but these patties were surprisingly good! The cheese and bread crumbs really helped to balance out the flavor of the broccoli.

These patties were a bit too cheesy for my taste. I think I would have liked them better if I had used less cheese.

These patties were a great way to use up leftover broccoli. They were cheesy and flavorful, and the bread crumbs gave them a nice crispy texture.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my patties didn't turn out as crispy as I would have liked. I think I might have needed to cook them for a little bit longer.

The patties were a little dry, but the flavor was good. I think I would add a little bit of milk or cream to the mixture next time.

These patties were a bit bland for my taste. I think I would have liked them better if I had added some more spices or herbs.

I've made these patties several times now, and they're always a crowd-pleaser. They're easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. I like to add a little bit of chopped bacon or sausage to mine.
