Banana Sauce image

For Birthday's, young people always requested a plan yellow cake with Grandmas Banana Sauce. It makes a supreme dessert. This came from Cooking With Carol A Taste Of The Past. I have not tried this, just posting for safe keeping.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups boiling water
2 bananas, mashed
1 banana, cut in half and sliced
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Mix the sugar and the cornstarch. Add boiling water gradually, stirring constantly. Cook, over low heat for 8-10 minutes. Add mashed bananas, mix thoroughly. Add banana slices and butter.
  • Serve hot.
