Time 15m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups water
1/3 cup carrot, peeled and cooked
1/3 cup white flour (I used half of that amount of cornstarch so that it would be gluten free)
1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Blend all ingredients together in a blender.
  • Pour into pan and stir until boils and thickens.
  • Take off heat and pour into noodles, over broccoli or potatoes, etc.

Tips:

  • Use a high-powered blender or food processor to get a smooth and creamy sauce.
  • Soak the cashews for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to soften them and make them easier to blend.
  • Add nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor and umami taste.
  • Use a variety of spices and seasonings to create your desired flavor profile.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of water or plant-based milk to thin it out.
  • Serve the sauce immediately, or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

With these tips in mind, you can easily make a delicious and versatile vegan cheese sauce that can be used in a variety of dishes.
