1 lb Carrots, halved and cut into 3" pieces
1 Tbsp (16g) Olive Oil
1 Tbsp (15g) Balsamic Vinegar
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Kosher Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper

  • Add the carrots back to the basket and air fry an additional 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until the carrots are fork tender and slightly charred around the edges.

Time 45m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup butter
3 1/2 lbs peeled baby carrots or 3 1/2 lbs regular carrots, peeled, cut into 2 inch pieces, halved lengthwise
5 -6 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or 1/4 cup cilantro

Steps:

  • Melt butter in heavy large pot over medium heat.
  • Add carrots and sauté 5 minutes.
  • Cover and cook until carrots are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally, about 7 minutes.
  • Stir in sugar and vinegar.
  • Cook uncovered until carrots are tender and glazed, stirring frequently, about 12 minutes longer.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Add parsley or cilantro and toss to blend.
  • Transfer to bowl and serve.

Tips:

  • To cut down on prep time, use pre-peeled baby carrots.
  • Be sure to dry the carrots thoroughly before tossing them with the olive oil. This will help them crisp up in the air fryer.
  • Season the carrots to your taste. Some good options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Give the carrots enough space to circulate so that they cook evenly.
  • Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking to ensure that the carrots cook evenly.
  • For a sweeter glaze, add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the balsamic vinegar.
  • Serve the carrots immediately, or they will start to lose their crispiness.

Conclusion:

Air-fried carrots with balsamic glaze are a delicious and healthy side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They're easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy side dish, give air-fried carrots with balsamic glaze a try.
