Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the chowder will taste. If possible, use wild-caught salmon and fresh vegetables.
  • Don't overcook the salmon: Salmon is a delicate fish, so it's important not to overcook it. Cook it just until it's opaque in the center.
  • Use a good quality clam juice: Clam juice is a key ingredient in salmon chowder, so it's important to use a good quality brand. Look for a clam juice that is made with real clams and has a rich flavor.
  • Add vegetables that you enjoy: You can add any vegetables that you like to your salmon chowder. Some popular choices include potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions. If you choose to use starchy vegetables, make sure to add them at the beginning of the cooking process, so that they have time to soften.
  • Season to taste: The best way to season your salmon chowder is to taste it as you go and add more seasonings as needed. Start with a small amount of salt and pepper, and then add more to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as dill, parsley, or paprika.
