PINA COLADA SMOOTHIE (ALCOHOLIC)

Pina Colada Smoothie (Alcoholic) image

This recipe comes from the 2010 cookbook, Smoothie Heaven, & is said to make a great drink, with or without the rum!.

Provided by Sydney Mike

Categories     Smoothies

Time 2m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

3/4 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup whole milk
2 scoops ice cream
2 tablespoons coconut milk powder
6 tablespoons white rum
1/2 cup ice, to pour over
1 maraschino cherry, for decoration

Steps:

  • Put the first 4 ingredients in a blender & process until smooth. Add the rum & process just to mix.
  • Pour over ice & decorate with the cherry.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe pineapple: Using ripe pineapple will ensure a sweeter and more flavorful smoothie.
  • Use frozen banana: Freezing the banana beforehand will give the smoothie a creamier texture.
  • Adjust the liquid: The amount of liquid you add will affect the consistency of the smoothie. Add more liquid for a thinner smoothie or less liquid for a thicker smoothie.
  • Use unsweetened coconut milk: This will help to keep the smoothie from becoming too sweet.
  • Add ice: If you want a colder smoothie, add some ice cubes.
  • Garnish with pineapple slices or a maraschino cherry: This will add a festive touch to your smoothie.
