Time 55m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 pounds ground beef (80% lean)
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup Italian-style bread crumbs
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon granulated onion
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons steak sauce (such as A.1.®)
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix ground beef, mayonnaise, bread crumbs, mustard, onion, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl until well combined. Transfer mixture to a 9x5-inch loaf pan with high sides. Form into a loaf by picking it up and forcing it down into the pan, making sure to knock out any air and square off all sides.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Spin pan and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Mix steak sauce, ketchup, and sugar together in a small bowl.
  • Remove from the oven and spoon sauce over top. Bake until no longer pink in the center, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  • Remove form the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Remove meat loaf to a serving platter and slice into 8 slices.

MAGIC CROCK POT MEATLOAF

Magic Crock Pot Meatloaf image

This recipe came with my Rival crock pot. The meat loaf is very moist and tender on the inside and a little bit crunchy around the outer edges. I cook mine on low for 9 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose the right meat. This recipe calls for a combination of ground beef and ground pork, but you can use any type of ground meat you like. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing will make the meatloaf tough. Just mix the ingredients until they are combined.
  • Use a loaf pan that is the right size. The meatloaf should fit snugly in the pan, but not be so tightly packed that it can't expand while cooking.
  • Cook the meatloaf until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. You can use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the meatloaf hold its shape.
