Tips:

  • To measure the flour accurately, spoon it into the measuring cup and level it off with a knife.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bread tough.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before using.
  • Use ripe peaches for the best flavor. If your peaches are not ripe, you can ripen them by placing them in a paper bag with an apple or banana for a few days.
  • You can also use frozen peaches for this recipe. Just thaw them before using.
  • If you don't have a loaf pan, you can bake the bread in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Serve the bread warm or at room temperature.
