Yield Makes 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

24 ounces (about 2 pints) fresh blueberries
2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, see notes
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice or use water
Pinch fine sea salt
3/4 cup (100 grams) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (65 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup (100 grams) sugar, try combining 1/4 cup brown sugar + 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Tips:

  • Choose the right blueberries: Use fresh, ripe blueberries for the best flavor and texture. Avoid blueberries that are bruised or moldy.
  • Use a variety of berries: For a more complex flavor, try using a mix of different types of berries, such as raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
  • Don't overmix the crumble topping: Overmixing will make the topping tough. Just mix until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Use a hot oven: A hot oven will help to create a crispy crumble topping.
  • Serve warm: Blueberry crumble is best served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Blueberry crumble is a classic American dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its sweet and tart blueberries, crunchy crumble topping, and creamy ice cream or whipped cream, it's the perfect dessert for any occasion.
