APPLE CINNAMON CROCK POT POTPOURRI

Apple Cinnamon Crock Pot Potpourri image

After reading many different crock pot potpourri recipes I came up with this one, and my house smells wonderful! :) If you don't have a small crock pot, just use a sauce pan and simmer on your stove. These are fun to throw together because you can use what ever you want to create the scent you want and you can't really mess up. I used the spices sold in the cellophane bag, they are very inexpensive and are usually in the Hispanic section of the grocery store.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, fragrant apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady. These apples hold their shape well and release a strong aroma when heated.
  • Use a variety of spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices besides cinnamon. Try adding nutmeg, cloves, star anise, or allspice for a more complex scent.
  • Adjust the amount of water: The amount of water you need will depend on the size of your crock pot and the desired consistency of the potpourri. Start with less water and add more as needed.
  • Simmer on low heat: Crock pot potpourri should be simmered on low heat for at least 4 hours, or overnight. This will allow the spices and apples to infuse the water with their fragrance.
  • Replenish the water as needed: As the potpourri simmers, the water will evaporate. Be sure to replenish the water as needed to keep the potpourri from burning.

Conclusion:

Apple cinnamon crock pot potpourri is a simple and affordable way to fill your home with a warm and inviting aroma. With just a few ingredients and a little time, you can create a natural air freshener that will last for days or even weeks.
