APPLE CINNAMON SUGARED MUFFINS (FROM A CAKE MIX!)

Apple Cinnamon Sugared Muffins (From a CAKE MIX!) image

I was looking for some simple muffins to make for a church bake sale when I came across the "base recipe" for these muffins on the Dunkin Hines website. I added a few ingredients and came up with this delicious number that combines my bounty of apples, cinnamon and sugar to create a moist muffin that goes great with your morning cup of java! Cooking time is per each dozen tray of muffins. (Also, the picture is missing the cinnamon/sugar coating. I decided to add that later)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons apple pie spice
1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Divide batter equally between 24 paper-lined cupcake wells.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before peeling off paper liners.

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Cake Mix: For a moist and flavorful muffin, use a yellow or vanilla cake mix. For a sweeter muffin, use a white or chocolate cake mix.
  • Use Fresh Apples: Fresh apples add a delicious flavor and texture to the muffins. If you don't have fresh apples, you can use unsweetened applesauce.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will result in tough muffins. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the Muffins at a High Temperature: Baking the muffins at a high temperature (400°F) will help them rise and create a golden brown crust.
  • Cool the Muffins Completely: Allow the muffins to cool completely before frosting or serving. This will help them set and prevent them from falling apart.
