3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons sherry
¼ cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon barbeque sauce
2 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 ½ pounds flank steak
skewers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, sherry, soy sauce, barbeque sauce, green onions, garlic, and ginger.
  • Cut flank steak across grain on a diagonal into 1/4 inch slices. Place slices in a 1 gallon resealable plastic bag. Pour hoisin sauce mixture over slices, and mix well. Refrigerate 2 hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Discard marinade, and thread steak on skewers.
  • Oil the grill grate. Grill skewers 3 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/4 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
Salt and black pepper
1 cup mayonnaise
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and black pepper
Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Steps:

  • For the beef: Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the sirloin cubes with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. In batches if necessary, sear the meat on all sides and cook until medium rare, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside to cool.
  • Meanwhile, make the dipping sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime zest and juice, vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, red pepper flakes and some salt and pepper.
  • Thread the beef onto toothpicks (2 pieces per). Garnish with cilantro and serve with the dipping sauce.

3 scallions, sliced
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh gingerroot, grated peeled
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 lb beef tenderloin, cut into 16 strips

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill. If you are using wooden skewers, soak in water 30 minutes.
  • In a gallon size sealable plastic bag, combine all of the ingredients, including the beef. Seal the bag, squeezing out the air. Marinate 15 minutes.
  • With tongs, remove the beef from the marinade; discard the remaining marinade. On each of 16, six-inch, metal or wooden skewers, thread one beef strip, piercing the beef in several places.
  • Grill until cooked through, about 5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve with either chinese mustard, duck sauce and/ or soy sauce to dip the skewers inches.

1 pound beef sirloin tip roast
1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup water
4 medium carrots, julienned
1/2 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
1 large sweet red pepper, julienned
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1-1/4 teaspoons prepared horseradish

Steps:

  • Cut beef widthwise into 16 slices, 1/4 in. thick. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, sugar and ginger; add beef. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 4 hours., In a large saucepan, bring water and carrots to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the beans and red pepper; cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Drain and immediately place vegetables in ice water. Drain and pat dry., Drain and discard marinade from beef. Arrange three beans, one carrot strip and one pepper strip down the center of each beef slice; roll up. 1 (1 lb) sirloin tip steak, 1 inch thick (1 lb)
10 green onions, cut in pieces of 2 inches (only the white part)

Steps:

1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon Thai red curry paste
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 pounds top sirloin beef or shell steak, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1 red onion, quartered, layers separated
1 can (20 ounces) sliced pineapple in juice, drained, slices quartered
1 package (10 ounces) thin dried Chinese noodles or spaghetti
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red-pepper flakes, for serving (optional)
