CHICKEN SPARERIBS (ASIAN STYLE?)

Chicken Spareribs (Asian Style?) image

I got this recipe out of a TOH issue a couple years back. My two year old always calls it Chinese. This is very quick and very delicious. My kids just eat it up. I make it with rice (with added dried garlic, dried chives and garlic salt) with the extra sauce poured over it. Add any veggie to your liking. ** Sometimes I do need to double the cornstarch and water**

Tips

  • Choose the right ribs: Look for meaty spare ribs with a good amount of fat. Avoid ribs that are too thin or bony.
  • Prepare the ribs properly: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and cut them into individual pieces.
  • Marinate the ribs: This will help to flavor and tenderize the ribs. You can use a variety of marinades, but a simple mixture of soy sauce, rice wine, garlic, and ginger is a good starting point.
  • Cook the ribs slowly: Low and slow cooking is the key to tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs. You can cook the ribs in a smoker, oven, or slow cooker.
  • Baste the ribs regularly: This will help to keep them moist and prevent them from drying out.
  • Glaze the ribs: A glaze will give the ribs a sticky, shiny finish and add extra flavor. You can use a variety of glazes, but a simple mixture of honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar is a good starting point.
  • Serve the ribs hot: Asian chicken spare ribs are best served hot, straight off the grill or out of the oven. Enjoy them with your favorite sides, such as rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Asian chicken spare ribs are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
