Time 5h

Yield Serves 6

Number Of Ingredients 0

Steps:

  • Mix flour and salt together and toss pork pieces in mixture until coated.
  • Heat oil in frying pan (skillet) and brown meat on all sides.
  • Transfer to crock pot.
  • Add onion to pan and saute until transparent.
  • Add all remaining ingredients to pan and bring to boil.
  • Transfer to crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 5- 8 hours (depending on your crock pot) until tender.
  • Discard bay leaves and stir well
  • Serve with rice.

Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: For this curry, tart apples like Granny Smith or Braeburn work best. They hold their shape well and provide a nice contrast to the rich pork and curry flavors.
  • Brown the pork in batches: This will help to develop flavour and prevent the pork from stewing. Be sure to sear the pork over high heat so that it gets a nice crust.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When browning the pork and apples, be sure to do it in batches so that the pan is not overcrowded. This will help the ingredients to cook evenly.
  • Simmer the curry until the pork is tender: This will usually take about 1-1.5 hours. Be sure to stir the curry occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Serve the curry with rice or naan: This will help to soak up the delicious sauce. You can also garnish the curry with fresh cilantro or yogurt.

Conclusion:

Apple and pork curry is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The combination of sweet apples and savory pork is sure to please everyone at the table. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a flavorful and satisfying curry that the whole family will love.
