AWESOME CHEESY HOT CRAB DIP

Awesome Cheesy Hot Crab Dip image

I got this recipe from a Southern Living Magazine a couple of years ago. It was an instant favorite, and I get so many requests for the recipe that I figured I would make it easy on myself and just post it. I usually use more Old Bay, Tabasco, and scallions than it says, cause I like a little extra kick. It really is AWESOME, especially with crusty french bread.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality crab meat: Fresh or frozen crab meat works best, but avoid using canned crab meat as it can be mushy and lack flavor.
  • Don't overcook the crab meat: Crab meat cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it or it will become tough and rubbery. Cook it just until it is heated through.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: A combination of cheeses, such as cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese, will give your crab dip a rich and flavorful taste.
  • Add some spice: A little bit of spice, such as cayenne pepper or Old Bay seasoning, can help to enhance the flavor of the crab dip.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: Crab dip is traditionally served with crackers, but you can also serve it with other dippers, such as bread, vegetables, or chips.

Conclusion:

Crab dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. With its creamy texture, rich flavor, and variety of dippers, crab dip is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
