Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Unroll pie crust onto lightly floured surface. Spacing closely, use an 8oz can of tomato sauce to cut 12 disk (9 around outside edge and 3 in the center). Press disk into a mini- muffin pan. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- 2. Stack bacon and thinly slice. Cook bacon until crisp. While bacon is cooling cut tomatoes in half, scrap out seeds and dice. Chop bacon and combine bacon, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mustard and garlic. Mix well
- 3. Fill each pie crust cup with about 1 tbsp of mix. Bake 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted. Top with sliced green onions and additional tomatoes. And ENJOY!!!
Tips:
- Choose the right bacon. Thick-cut bacon will hold up better during cooking and provide a more satisfying bite.
- Don't overcook the bacon. Overcooked bacon will be tough and chewy. Cook it just until it's crispy but still a little chewy.
- Use a good quality cheddar cheese. A sharp cheddar will provide the best flavor.
- Grate the cheese finely. This will help it melt evenly.
- Use a muffin tin with liners. This will make it easy to remove the bites from the tin and will help keep them from sticking.
- Fill the muffin cups evenly. This will help ensure that the bites are all cooked evenly.
- Bake the bites until they're golden brown. This will take about 15-20 minutes.
- Let the bites cool slightly before serving. This will help them firm up.
Conclusion:
Bacon cheddar bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that are perfect for any occasion. They're also a great way to use up leftover bacon and cheese. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious snack or appetizer that everyone will love.
