But based on what Rodney Scott's said about this sauce in interviews, videos, and tv shows, I think this is really, really close. Sauce is safe unrefrigerated but will last longer if kept in the fridge, for up to two months.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tomatoes. Vine-ripened tomatoes have the best flavor. If you can't find vine-ripened tomatoes, use Roma tomatoes, which are also a good choice for making barbecue sauce.
  • Roast the tomatoes before you use them. Roasting the tomatoes concentrates their flavor and makes them sweeter.
  • Use a variety of spices. The best barbecue sauces use a variety of spices, including chili powder, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder. You can also add other spices, such as cayenne pepper or chipotle powder, to taste.
  • Simmer the sauce for a long time. The longer you simmer the sauce, the more flavorful it will be. Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or up to an hour.
  • Taste the sauce as you go. Adjust the seasonings to taste. You may need to add more salt, pepper, or spices.
  • Let the sauce cool before you use it. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Let the sauce cool for at least 15 minutes before you use it.

Conclusion:

Barbecue sauce is a versatile condiment that can be used on a variety of foods, from grilled meats and vegetables to chicken wings and burgers. With so many different recipes to choose from, you're sure to find one that you love. So next time you're firing up the grill, don't forget to make a batch of your favorite barbecue sauce.
