Tips:
- Use a good quality beef broth. This is the base of the soup, so it's important to use a broth that is flavorful and rich. You can use store-bought broth or make your own.
- Brown the beef well. This will help to develop the flavor of the soup. Be sure to brown the beef in batches so that it doesn't crowd the pan and steam instead of brown.
- Use a variety of vegetables. This will add flavor and texture to the soup. Some good choices include onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, and parsnips.
- Season the soup well. Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme to taste. You can also add a bay leaf or two for extra flavor.
- Let the soup simmer for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the vegetables to soften.
- Serve the soup with a side of crusty bread or crackers. This will help to soak up the delicious broth.
Conclusion:
Baked Beefy Onion Soup is a hearty and flavorful soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste.
