GARLIC-BUTTER ORZO CHICKEN CASSEROLE
Find 20 minutes and this luscious, Caprese salad-inspired, chicken casserole can be tonight's dinner. The trick to the quick prep is coating the raw ingredients with rich and aromatic seasonings before baking. The chicken breasts get rubbed with olive oil, Italian seasoning and a dash of red pepper flakes and placed atop a garlicky, buttery bed of orzo and tomatoes. Then the casserole gets sealed up tight with foil, so the flavors can concentrate and meld in the oven. It won't take long before you're enjoying the savory aroma-and flavor-of this dish!

GARLIC CHICKEN WITH ORZO NOODLES
This is a simple recipe with a spicy kick for garlic lovers. It is my combination of a much loved linguine and clam sauce dish and a recent introduction to orzo pasta. I have several variations for this recipe. Add more red pepper for extra spice. Substitute the chicken for clams or shrimp. Substitute the spinach leaves for diced tomatoes. I've also added spices such as basil, rosemary and oregano bringing a distinct Italian flavor to the dish.

Tips:
- Mise en place: Before starting to cook, ensure all ingredients are prepped and measured. This will make the cooking process smoother and faster.
- Choose the right orzo: For this recipe, it's best to use a small or medium-sized orzo pasta, such as risoni or kritharaki. These types of orzo will hold their shape well and won't become mushy when cooked.
- Don't overcook the orzo: Orzo should be cooked al dente, with a slight bite to it. Overcooked orzo will become soft and mushy, ruining the texture of the dish.
- Use a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet: A well-seasoned cast-iron skillet will help to evenly brown the chicken and prevent it from sticking. If you don't have a cast-iron skillet, you can use a regular skillet but be sure to grease it well.
- Be patient when browning the chicken: Don't rush the process of browning the chicken. Cook it over medium heat and allow it to develop a nice golden-brown crust before flipping. This will help to lock in the flavor and juices.
- Use a flavorful broth: The broth used in this recipe plays a big role in the overall flavor of the dish. Use a high-quality, flavorful broth, such as homemade chicken broth or a low-sodium store-bought broth.
- Don't overcrowd the skillet: When adding the orzo to the skillet, don't overcrowd it. This will prevent the orzo from cooking evenly and may cause it to clump together.
- Let the dish rest before serving: Once the dish is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the orzo to absorb any remaining broth.
Conclusion:
This Baked Chicken and Garlic Orzo is a delicious and easy-to-make one-pot meal that's perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the orzo is cooked to perfection, and the garlic and herbs add a wonderful depth of flavor. This dish is sure to be a hit with the whole family!
