Tips:

  • Choose the right zucchini: Select firm, deep green zucchini that are about 6-8 inches long. Avoid zucchini that are too large or have blemishes.
  • Slice the zucchini evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If you are using a mandoline, be sure to use the guard to protect your fingers.
  • Don't crowd the pan: When cooking the zucchini, be sure to leave enough space between the slices so that they can brown properly. Otherwise, they will steam instead of sauté.
  • Cook the zucchini until it is tender: You should be able to easily pierce the zucchini with a fork when it is done.
  • Make the balsamic glaze ahead of time: This will give the flavors time to meld. You can make the glaze up to 3 days in advance.
  • Serve the zucchini immediately: The zucchini is best served fresh out of the pan, while it is still hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Balsamic glazed zucchini is a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up fresh zucchini from your garden or local farmers market. The balsamic glaze adds a sweet and tangy flavor that complements the zucchini perfectly. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
