My grandmother even requested the recipe to make for her church group, which was a big compliment for me. I like to serve them with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad.

4 teaspoons salt
4 cups catsup
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup garlic powder
1 cup chopped onion

  • If in the oven bake at 350* for 1 hour and check.
  • When done through your ready to eat.
  • If in crock pot give it 4 hours on high.

Tips:

  • Choose the right meat: Use a combination of ground beef, pork, and veal for a classic BBQ meatball flavor. You can also use ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
  • Use fresh bread crumbs: Fresh bread crumbs will help to bind the meatballs together and add a light, fluffy texture. You can make your own bread crumbs by toasting bread and then grinding it in a food processor, or you can buy them pre-made.
  • Add plenty of flavorings: Onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and dried oregano are all classic BBQ meatball flavorings. You can also add other spices and herbs to taste, such as cumin, chili powder, or cayenne pepper.
  • Don't overmix the meatball mixture: Overmixing will make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Cook the meatballs thoroughly: Meatballs should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. You can cook them in a skillet, in the oven, or on a grill.
  • Serve the meatballs with your favorite BBQ sauce: BBQ meatballs are a great appetizer or main course. Serve them with your favorite BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw.
