Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, rump roast, or brisket are all good options for barbecued roast beef. These cuts are tough, but they become tender when cooked slowly and at a low temperature.
  • Use a flavorful rub: A good rub will help to add flavor to the beef and create a nice crust. You can use a store-bought rub or make your own. Some popular ingredients for rubs include brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  • Cook the beef slowly and at a low temperature: This will help to tenderize the beef and prevent it from drying out. The ideal temperature for cooking barbecued roast beef is between 225 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the beef rest before carving: This will help to redistribute the juices and make the beef more tender. Let the beef rest for at least 15 minutes before carving.
  • Serve the beef with your favorite sides: Some popular sides for barbecued roast beef include mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn on the cob.
