Time 6h20m

Yield 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup caramel topping
1 tablespoon bourbon
1 (9-inch) chocolate wafer pie crust
2 pints coffee ice cream, softened
1/2 cup chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add caramel topping and bourbon. Bring to a low boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  • To pie crust add 1/4 cup of cooled caramel sauce. Place in freezer for 15 minutes until caramel firms.
  • Remove pie crust from freezer; add 1 pint softened coffee ice cream. Over top of ice cream, sprinkle 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/4 cup pecans. Return pie to freezer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Repeat and make another layer. Return pie to freezer for a minimum of 4 hours.
  • For easy slicing, run knife under hot water.

Tips:

  • Chilling the pie dough before rolling and baking helps to prevent it from shrinking.
  • To avoid a soggy bottom crust, pre-bake the pie crust for 10-15 minutes before filling it.
  • Use cold ingredients when making the pie dough, as this will help to keep the butter from melting and making the dough tough.
  • If you don't have a pie plate, you can use a 9-inch springform pan or a deep-dish quiche dish.
  • To make a gluten-free pie crust, use a gluten-free flour blend.
  • To make a vegan pie crust, use a plant-based butter or margarine.

Conclusion:

Bayou pie crust is a delicious and versatile pie crust that can be used for a variety of pies, from sweet to savory. With its buttery flavor and flaky texture, it's sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a pie crust recipe, give Bayou pie crust a try.
