Provided by Dan

Categories     Dinner

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pork tenderloins (about 2 pounds each)
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup red wine
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
Pinch of cloves
Fresh black pepper to taste
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (can use low sugar BBQ sauce if doing low carb)

Steps:

  • Combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, red wine, garlic, sugar, cinnamon, coriander and the pinch of cloves in a resealable bag or a glass baking dish. Add the pork tenderloins and marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours, turning during the marinating process to coat both sides of the pork.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Remove the pork from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and dry off with paper towels, then add to a baking dish that's been sprayed with cooking spray. Place into the oven for 30 minutes.
  • While the pork is in the oven, pour a cup of the marinade into a small pot. Bring the marinade to a boil for 5 minutes, then turn the heat down to a simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes. Add the 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce and stir to combine, then remove from the heat.
  • After 30 minutes, take the pork out of the oven and baste with the sauce. Return the pork tenderloins to the oven for another 15 minutes, then remove and baste again. Bake for another 15 minutes or until the temperature reaches 140 degrees.
  • Tent the pork loosely with foil to rest for 10 minutes. Slice and serve with additional sauce on the side.

CANTONESE PORK

This Cantonese-style recipe is our favorite way to prepare pork loin. We love it with fried rice and veggies, but it's also delicious sliced and served cold as an appetizer. Try dipping it in soy sauce, hot mustard and sesame seeds. -Carla Mendres, Winnipeg, Manitoba

CANTONESE PORK TENDERLOIN RECIPE

Provided by Bonita

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup dry Sherry, NOT cooking sherry
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil, optional
1/2 teaspoon hot chili oil, optional
4 green onions, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh ginger root, minced
2 to 4 pork tenderloins (3 pounds total)

Steps:

  • Combine all marinade ingredients and marinate 24 to 48 hours. Grill over medium-hot coals or gas grill 7 minutes per each of the 4 sides, basting each time. You can also heat the marinade to boiling, then lower heat and stir well until thickened and serve either over or on the side with the pork.

Tips:

  • Make sure the pork tenderloin is trimmed of any fat or silver skin before cooking.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the pork tenderloin deeply, about 1/2 inch apart. This will help the marinade penetrate the meat and cook it evenly.
  • Don't marinate the pork tenderloin for more than 24 hours, or the meat will become tough.
  • Cook the pork tenderloin over medium heat, turning it every few minutes, until it is cooked through.
  • Let the pork tenderloin rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Conclusion:

Cantonese pork tenderloin is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer, main course, or even a sandwich. It is a great way to use up leftover pork tenderloin, and it is also a budget-friendly meal. With its sweet and savory flavor, Cantonese pork tenderloin is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
