Steps:
- Combine all ingredients, but buns in medium saucepan.
- Bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low. Cover and let cook for 10-12 minutes, or until onion is tender.
- Stir occasionally.
- Serve on buns.
Tips:
- For the most flavor, use a variety of vegetables in your sloppy joes, such as bell peppers, onions, and carrots. If you have picky eaters in your family, you may want to dice the vegetables very small or even grate them so that they're less noticeable.
- You can use ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken in this recipe. If you use ground turkey or chicken, you may want to add a little bit of olive oil or butter to the pan to prevent it from sticking.
- Sloppy joes are a great way to use up leftover vegetables. If you have any cooked vegetables in your refrigerator, feel free to add them to the mix.
- Serve sloppy joes on hamburger buns or slider buns. You can also use lettuce leaves or whole wheat tortillas for a healthier option.
Conclusion:
Sloppy joes are a classic American comfort food that are easy to make and loved by people of all ages. They're a great way to use up leftover vegetables and ground beef, and they're perfect for a casual meal with family and friends. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give sloppy joes a try. You won't be disappointed!
