Tips for Making the Best Benihana Japanese Fried Rice

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the final dish.
  • Cook the rice perfectly. The rice should be cooked through but still have a slight bite to it.
  • Use a well-seasoned wok or large skillet. This will help to prevent the rice from sticking and will also help to create a nice, even sear.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you overcrowd the pan, the rice will not cook evenly and will become mushy.
  • Stir-fry the rice until it is slightly browned. This will give it a nice, nutty flavor.
  • Add the vegetables and cook until they are tender. Do not overcook the vegetables, as they should still have a slight crunch.
  • Add the eggs and cook until they are scrambled. Stir the eggs constantly as they cook so that they do not become overcooked.
  • Season the rice with soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, ginger powder, or sesame oil, to taste.
  • Serve the rice immediately. Benihana Japanese fried rice is best served hot and fresh.
