RODGROD MED FLODE (RED BERRY DESSERT WITH CREAM)

Rodgrod med Flode (Red Berry Dessert with Cream) image

This recipe came from my Grandmother Johansen, she was a wonderful old-school cook. I learned basically to cook from her on my summer vacations there as a little girl. I still remember how she prepared this summer dish with such care and pride. 'Velbekomme' as we say in Denmark.

Tips:

  • Prep your Berries: Rinse and pat dry your berries before using them. This will prevent excess water from diluting the cream mixture.
  • Chill Before Serving: For a refreshing and creamy dessert, chill the Berry Cream Dessert for at least 2 hours before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the cream to set properly.
  • Use Fresh Berries: Fresh berries deliver the best flavor and texture to this dessert. If using frozen berries, thaw them completely and drain off any excess liquid before using.
  • Sweeten to Taste: Adjust the amount of sugar or honey in the cream mixture according to your personal preference and the sweetness of your berries.
  • Garnish Elegantly: Top each serving of Berry Cream Dessert with additional fresh berries, mint leaves, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar for an attractive presentation.
