THE PERFECT MARGARITA

The Perfect Margarita image

Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

6 ounces Sierra Mist Free or 6 ounces diet Sprite
1 1/2 ounces tequila (about a shot and a half)
1/2 teaspoon Crystal Light powdered drink mix, Lemonade
1 ounce lime juice

Steps:

  • If desired run some lme juice along the dish rim of the glass and dip into a dish of salt or sweetener. Mix all ingredients together. Pour over 1 cup crushed ice.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the fruit, the better the margarita will taste. If you can, use organic ingredients as well.
  • Choose a good quality tequila. The tequila is the most important ingredient in a margarita, so don't skimp on it. Look for a 100% agave tequila that is at least 80 proof.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice. Bottled lime juice is not as flavorful as freshly squeezed lime juice. If you don't have a juicer, you can also use bottled lime juice, but be sure to add a little extra to compensate for the lack of flavor.
  • Don't overmix the margarita. Overmixing will dilute the margarita and make it watery. Shake the margarita for just a few seconds, until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Serve the margarita immediately. Margaritas are best served immediately after they are made. If you need to make them ahead of time, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours.
  • Garnish the margarita with a lime wedge or a salt rim. This will add a festive touch and make the margarita even more delicious.

Margaritas are a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple tips, you can make the best margarita you've ever tasted. So next time you're in the mood for a margarita, try one of the recipes from this article. You won't be disappointed!
