Categories     Phyllo/Puff Pastry Dough

Number Of Ingredients 9

7/8 cup water
3 tablespoons buttermilk powder
2 cups bread flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup bleu cheese, crumbled
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • Follow your ABM mfg.'s directions for preparation of this type of bread.

Tips:

  • Use the right type of blue cheese. A good blue cheese for bread should be flavorful and crumbly, such as Gorgonzola, Roquefort, or Stilton. Avoid using a blue cheese that is too soft or runny, as it will not hold its shape well in the bread.
  • Don't overwork the dough. Overworking the dough will make the bread tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined, and then stop. If the dough is still too sticky, you can add a little more flour, but be careful not to add too much.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place. A warm place will help the dough rise faster. You can place the dough in a warm oven (turned off) or in a sunny spot in your kitchen.
  • Bake the bread until it is golden brown. The bread is done baking when it is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped. If you are not sure if the bread is done, insert a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Let the bread cool before slicing. Slicing the bread while it is still hot will cause it to crumble. Let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Conclusion:

Blue cheese bread is a delicious and versatile bread that can be enjoyed in many different ways. It can be served as an appetizer, a side dish, or even a main course. It is also a great bread to use for sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches. With its tangy and flavorful taste, blue cheese bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
