Tips:

  • Use fresh eggs. Fresh eggs will have a thicker, more flavorful yolk that will make for a richer deviled egg.
  • Hard-boil the eggs perfectly. Overcooked eggs will be dry and crumbly, while undercooked eggs will be runny. For perfectly hard-boiled eggs, place them in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pan and remove it from the heat. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, depending on how hard you want them to be. Drain the hot water and immediately place the eggs in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • Make sure the eggs are completely cool before peeling them. Peeling warm eggs will make the whites stick to the shell.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the eggs in half. This will help to prevent the yolks from crumbling.
  • Scoop out the yolks carefully. Use a small spoon to gently scoop out the yolks, being careful not to break them.
  • Mash the yolks with a fork. Use a fork to mash the yolks until they are smooth and creamy.
  • Add your favorite ingredients to the yolks. You can add a variety of ingredients to the yolks, such as mayonnaise, mustard, relish, horseradish, and celery. Be creative and experiment until you find a combination that you like.
  • Pipe the yolk mixture into the egg white halves. Use a piping bag or a spoon to pipe the yolk mixture into the egg white halves. You can also use a fork to spread the yolk mixture evenly over the egg white halves.
  • Garnish the deviled eggs. You can garnish the deviled eggs with a variety of toppings, such as paprika, chives, parsley, or bacon bits.
