PAULA DEEN'S CARAMELIZED VIDALIA ONION AND BLUE CHEESE HOT DIP
This is a quick and easy dip to make that everyone seems to love. I used panko bread crumbs because that is what I had in my pantry. I also found that you needed to cut the onion pieces into smaller strips (I took the onion and cut it in half and then half again). I also used Clemson Blue Cheese.

Tips:
- Choose high-quality blue cheese: The quality of the blue cheese will greatly impact the flavor of the dip. Look for a cheese that is creamy and flavorful, with a strong blue cheese tang.
- Caramelize the onions slowly and patiently: Caramelizing the onions properly is essential for developing their rich, sweet flavor. Cook them over low heat, stirring frequently, until they are deep golden brown.
- Use a good quality mayonnaise: The mayonnaise adds richness and creaminess to the dip. Use a mayonnaise that you enjoy the taste of, and make sure it is fresh.
- Season the dip to taste: The amount of salt, pepper, and garlic powder you add to the dip will depend on your personal preferences. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
- Chill the dip before serving: Chilling the dip allows the flavors to meld and develop. It also makes the dip easier to scoop and serve.

This blue cheese and caramelized onion dip is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Serve it with crackers, chips, or vegetables, and enjoy!
