KITTENCAL'S VEGETABLE PLATTER WITH BLUE CHEESE DIP

Kittencal's Vegetable Platter With Blue Cheese Dip image

Your guests will love this veggie tray! --- plan ahead the dip *must* be chilled for at least 3 hours or up to 24 hours before serving, the flavors will strongly intensify --- The amounts listed for the of dip is enough for about 6-8 people, I suggest to double or triple the amounts if serving a large crowd, if doubling increase the fresh garlic by only as small amount, I did not list amounts for the veggies choose as much as you want to use and whatever assortment you desire --- the veggie platter may be made well in advance, cover tightly with plastic and refrigerate until ready to serve, you will need a large round serving platter to accommodate all the veggies and the bowl of dip --- now if you really want to take this veggie platter to a whole new level and make it really special place assorted cheeses and deviled eggs around the dip bowl on the platter, see my recipe#77854

BLUE CHEESE AND ROASTED GARLIC DIP/SPREAD

Blue Cheese and Roasted Garlic Dip/Spread image

This is the most amazing dip that is also wonderful spread on grilled steaks and burgers and also wonderful served on the side with raw veggies --- fresh garlic may be used, but be cautious only to use a small amount 1 teaspoon minced or less of fresh will do fine as it will overpower the other ingredients, I use about 1 tablespoon roasted for this, start by adding in a small amount at a time, and increase the amount of roasted garlic (fresh or roasted) as this dip gets stronger when left left to chill for the full 24 hours, so you might want to start with a small amount of garlic and add in more the following day if desired --- this is a dip I created years ago and still serve it today at get togethers it is the first to completey go so I always make a double batch --- gorgonzola cheese can be replaced with blue cheese for a milder flavor --- plan ahead this dip needs to chill 8-24 hours before using, you may adjust all ingredients to taste, if you prefer a more creamy dip increase the sour cream slightly, but start with the stated amounts, you will love this dip! :)

Tips for Making the Best Blue Cheese Dip for Veggies:

  • Choose the right blue cheese. Not all blue cheeses are created equal. For the best flavor, look for a blue cheese that is creamy and flavorful, with a sharp, tangy taste. Some good options include Roquefort, Gorgonzola, and Stilton.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The fresher your ingredients, the better your dip will taste. Use fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices, and make sure your blue cheese is fresh and creamy.
  • Don't overmix the dip. Overmixing the dip will make it smooth and creamy, which is not the desired texture for a blue cheese dip. You want the dip to be chunky and flavorful, so mix it just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the dip chill before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop, and will make the dip easier to spread.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of vegetables. This will give your guests a variety of options to choose from. Some good options include celery, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower.

Conclusion:

Blue cheese dip is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With a few simple tips, you can make the best blue cheese dip for veggies that your guests will love. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed.
