Time 20m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (16 ounce) bag frozen cheese ravioli (I like square, plain cheese filled)
1 egg
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (I like Italian seasoned)
1 (8 ounce) jar marinara sauce

Steps:

  • Allow ravioli to thaw. (I usually just let them sit for an hour or so, but I have also run them under cold water to thaw as well).
  • Beat egg in small bowl.
  • Place breadcrumbs in pie plate.
  • Heat about 1/4-inch of olive oil over medium high heat.
  • Dip ravioli in egg then coat with breadcrumbs and pan fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with warmed marinara.
  • Tip: I like to dip and coat the ravioli and place on a plate and refrigerate then cook them just before serving.
  • I've made them as far ahead of time at 3 hours and they are still wonderful!

Tips:

  • Choose the right ravioli: Look for ravioli that are firm and have a good filling-to-pasta ratio. Avoid ravioli that are too soft or have too much filling, as they may fall apart during cooking.
  • Use a light touch: When breading the ravioli, be gentle to avoid tearing the pasta. Work in small batches to ensure that each ravioli is evenly coated.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When frying the ravioli, do not overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly and may cause them to stick together.
  • Use a good quality oil: Choose a high-heat oil, such as vegetable oil or canola oil, for frying the ravioli. This will help to prevent them from sticking to the pan and will give them a crispy coating.
  • Serve immediately: Breaded ravioli are best served immediately after cooking. This will ensure that they are crispy and hot.

Conclusion:

Breaded ravioli is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a dish that is sure to impress your friends and family. Whether you choose to fry, bake, or air fry your ravioli, you are sure to enjoy this classic Italian dish.
