Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 medium bunch broccoli, uncooked, washed, cut into florets
4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
½ cup cashews
1/3 cup golden raisins
¼ cup red onion, chopped
dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, mix the broccoli, cashews, raisins, onions, and the cooked crumbled bacon.
  • 2. In a small bowl, mix the dressing ingredients with a whisk until smooth.
  • 3. Mix all or half of the dressing with the broccoli mixture to suit your taste. Chill to allow flavors to meld for about 30 minutes than serve.

Tips:

  • Choose the right broccoli: For the best flavor and texture, select broccoli that is deep green in color and has tightly closed florets. Avoid broccoli with yellow or brown florets, as this indicates that it is past its prime.
  • Blanch the broccoli: Blanching the broccoli helps to preserve its鮮豔color and crisp texture. To blanch the broccoli, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Immediately remove the broccoli from the boiling water and place it in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Use a variety of nuts and seeds: In addition to cashews, you can also use other nuts and seeds in this salad, such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, or sunflower seeds. Add a variety of nuts and seeds to your salad for different flavors and textures.
  • Use a flavorful dressing: The dressing is what really brings this salad together. Be sure to use a dressing that is flavorful and complements the other ingredients in the salad. A simple vinaigrette made with olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper is a good option.
  • Add other vegetables: Feel free to add other vegetables to this salad, such as shredded carrots, diced celery, or chopped bell peppers. Add any other vegetables you like to this salad to make it more colorful and nutritious.

Conclusion:

Broccoli cashew salad is a delicious and healthy dish that can be enjoyed as a main course or side dish. It is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This salad is also a good source of protein and fiber, which help to keep you feeling full and satisfied.
