"So I fooled them with this casserole that looks just like stuffing when it comes out of the oven. Now that they're grown, they sill ask for 'broccoli stuffing' when they come for dinner."

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, high-quality ingredients. The fresher your vegetables and dairy products, the better your casserole will taste. Look for broccoli and corn that are bright green and crisp, and use fresh milk and cream.
  • Don't overcook the vegetables. Broccoli and corn should be cooked just until they are tender-crisp. Overcooking will make them mushy and bland.
  • Use a good quality cheese. The cheese is one of the main flavors in this casserole, so it's important to use a cheese that you enjoy. A sharp cheddar cheese is a classic choice, but you could also use a milder cheese like mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
  • Season the casserole well. Salt and pepper are essential, but you can also add other spices and herbs to taste. Garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika are all good choices.
  • Bake the casserole until it is golden brown and bubbly. This will ensure that the casserole is cooked through and that the cheese is melted and gooey.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the casserole to set up.

Conclusion:

Broccoli corn casserole is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served as a side dish or a main course. It's perfect for potlucks, picnics, and holiday gatherings. With its creamy, cheesy sauce and tender-crisp vegetables, this casserole is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
