My grandmother passed down this recipe to my mother, who in turn passed it down to me. Now my daughter is making it for her family. With a graham cracker crust, custard filling and meringue topping, this pie was one of my favorites when I was growing up and it still is today.

Tips:
- Choose the right pumpkin: For the best flavor, look for a small, sugar pumpkin. These pumpkins are sweeter and have a denser flesh than larger pumpkins.
- Roast the pumpkin: Roasting the pumpkin intensifies its flavor and makes it easier to mash.
- Use a good quality custard base: The custard base is what gives the pie its rich, creamy texture. Use a recipe that uses whole milk, heavy cream, and eggs.
- Don't overcook the custard: The custard should be set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Overcooked custard will be tough and rubbery.
- Let the pie cool completely before serving: This will allow the custard to set properly and the flavors to meld together.
Conclusion:
Brown sugar almond pumpkin custard pie is a delicious and festive dessert that is perfect for fall. With its rich, creamy custard, sweet pumpkin filling, and crunchy almond topping, this pie is sure to be a hit at your next gathering. So next time you're looking for a special dessert, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
