Tips:

  • Choosing the right pan: Use a pan that is large enough to accommodate the cake batter and allow it to rise without overflowing. A 10-inch (25 cm) cast-iron skillet is a good option.
  • Use fresh baking powder: Baking powder loses its potency over time, so make sure to use a fresh batch for best results.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Cook the cake over medium heat: Cooking the cake over medium heat helps to prevent the bottom from burning while allowing the inside to cook through.
  • Use a toothpick to check for doneness: Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached, the cake is done.
  • Serve the cake warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!

Conclusion:

Burnt brown sugar cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its moist texture, rich flavor, and caramelized topping, this cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a special treat, give burnt brown sugar cake a try. You won't be disappointed!
