Steps:
- 1. Melt the morsels in the top of a double boiler.
- 2. Stir in noodles and peanuts.
- 3. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.
Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients: This will ensure that your butterscotch crunchies turn out delicious. Look for butter that is at least 82% butterfat, and use pure vanilla extract instead of imitation vanilla.
- Don't overcook the butterscotch mixture: This will make it too hard and brittle. Cook it just until it reaches the desired consistency, which should be thick and bubbly.
- Let the butterscotch mixture cool completely before adding the cereal: This will help to prevent the cereal from getting soggy.
- Use a variety of cereals: This will give your butterscotch crunchies a more interesting flavor and texture. Some good options include Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, and Cheerios.
- Add mix-ins: You can add a variety of mix-ins to your butterscotch crunchies, such as chopped nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips. Get creative and experiment with different flavors.
