1 head cabbage (chopped & drained)
1/2 cup andouille sausage (smoked sausage can be substituted)
1 small onion (chopped)
1 slice bacon (cut in small pieces)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon creole seasoning (cajun seasoning)
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Fry bacon and sausage in a large skillet about 15 min., add onions; saute until onions are wilted.
  • Add chopped, drained cabbage stir frequently, add sugar and seasonings, simmer until cabbage reaches desired texture.
  • Stir in butter right before serving.
  • Serve as a side dish or over rice.

1 -2 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
1 (10 ounce) can rotel
1/2 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, brown beef with chopped onion. Drain, if necessary. Return meat mixture to pan.
  • Add chopped cabbage (this may have to be done in batches depending on how big of a pan you use). Cook until cabbage is somewhat wilted.
  • Add Rotel and continue to cook until cabbage is tender.
  • Add cubed Velveeta and seasonings to taste.
  • Cook until cheese is melted. Serve hot.

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion
1 medium green pepper
1 medium cabbage
1 (10 ounce) can rotel tomatoes and green chilies
1 (10 ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Chop the onion and green pepper. Slice the cabbage.
  • In a large pan, brown the gound beef with the onions and peppers. Drain and remove from pan.
  • Put the sliced cabbage in the pan; add the Rotel tomatoes. Cook on medium heat until cabbage is tender.
  • Add the meat mixture to the cabbage and stir well. Stir in the cheese soup until well blended. Cover and cook over low hear for at least 1 hour. Add salt and pepper to taste.

4 large cabbage leaves, cooked enough to roll up easily
1 1/3 cups sausage, rice mixture
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Mix together rice mixture and cheese, set aside.
  • Spray an 11 x 9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
