Time 1h22m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 egg white
4 teaspoons cajun seasoning
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 (12 ounce) can honey-roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan with foil; grease the foil and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl beat egg white with rotary beater until frothy. Stir in Cajun seasoning and cayene pepper. Add peanuts and toss to coat.
  • Spread peanuts in a single layer in prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes, stirring once halfway through baking. Cool completely. Break up any large clusters of peanuts.

Tips:

  • Use unsalted peanuts: Salted peanuts can make the finished product too salty.
  • Roast the peanuts before sugaring them: This helps to bring out their flavor and make them more crunchy.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pot: This will help to prevent the sugar from burning.
  • Stir the peanuts constantly: This will help to ensure that they are evenly coated with sugar.
  • Cook the peanuts until the sugar has melted and turned amber: This will give the peanuts a delicious caramelized flavor.
  • Spread the peanuts out on a baking sheet to cool: This will help to prevent them from sticking together.
  • Store the peanuts in an airtight container: This will help to keep them fresh and crispy.

Conclusion:

Cajun sugared peanuts are a delicious and easy-to-make snack. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or just to enjoy on your own.
