Tips:

  • Choose ripe bananas: Ripeness of the banana is crucial for the perfect campfire banana boat. Look for bananas with a bright yellow peel and no blemishes.
  • Use a variety of toppings: Be creative and adventurous with your toppings. From classic options like chocolate chips, marshmallows, and nuts to unique choices like crumbled bacon or peanut butter cups, the possibilities are endless.
  • Control the heat: Campfire cooking requires patience and attention to heat control. Keep the fire at a moderate level to prevent the banana boats from burning.
  • Don't overcook: Banana boats are best when the bananas are still slightly firm. Overcooking will make them mushy and less enjoyable.
  • Serve immediately: Campfire banana boats are best served hot and fresh off the fire. Let them cool slightly before enjoying to prevent burning your mouth.
