CANDIED CHICKEN WINGS

My new favourite chicken wing recipe, I got this from my mother-in-law who is a great cook. This recipe works well if you boil the wings before adding the sauce and baking them... just reduce baking time accordingly. Can be doubled or halved easily with excellent results

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken wings: Look for plump, meaty wings with smooth, intact skin. Avoid wings with bruises or discoloration.
  • Make sure your chicken wings are dry before frying: Pat them dry with paper towels to prevent the oil from splattering.
  • Use a combination of oil and butter for frying: This will help the wings get crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
  • Fry the chicken wings in batches: Don't overcrowd the pot, or the wings will not cook evenly.
  • Cook the chicken wings until they are golden brown and crispy: This should take about 8-10 minutes per side.
  • Drain the chicken wings on paper towels: This will help remove excess oil.
  • Make the candied sauce while the chicken wings are frying: This will give the sauce time to thicken and develop flavor.
  • Toss the chicken wings in the candied sauce: Make sure the wings are evenly coated.
  • Serve the chicken wings immediately: They are best enjoyed hot and crispy.

Conclusion:

Candied chicken wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties or game day gatherings. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make candied chicken wings that will be a hit with everyone who tries them.
