CROCK POT CANDIED SWEET POTATOES W/ APPLES
I came up with the recipe as a variation on my mom's recipe (Recipe #399245 ). This one uses fresh sweet potatoes and it is cooked in a crock pot so you have more time to fix other dishes during busy holiday dinners. I also cut back slightly on the maple syrup to cut some sweetness and added pumpkin pie spice for some depth.

CANDIED SWEET POTATOES WITH APPLE
From Light and Tasty Magazine...submitted by H. Grant. My family really enjoyed this recipe this past holiday season. Most commented they liked it because it did not have marshmallows and also loved the addition of apple. I think it would be good with a handful of dried cranberries sprinkled on top too.
