1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks in syrup
3 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
5 tablespoons teriyaki sauce, divided (I use lite)
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon catsup
1 lb lean ground beef
2 tablespoons instant minced onion
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple; reserve syrup. Combine syrup, brown sugar, 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce, vinegar and catsup; set aside.
  • Mix beef with remaining 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce and onion; shape into 20 meatballs. Brown meatballs in large skillet; drain off excess fat.
  • Pour syrup mixture over meatballs; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in water; stir into skillet with pineapple. Cook and stir until sauce thickens and pineapple is heated through.

3/4 lb ground round
1/4 lb ground pork
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup milk
1 cup water chestnut, chopped fine
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients for meatballs. Mix well. Form into bite size meatballs.
  • Bake in 9 x 13-inch glass pans in a 375° oven until brown, approximately 1 hour, turning once.
  • Cool and drain on paper towels.
