Yield 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pint yellow cherry tomatoes (as small as possible)
1 pint red cherry tomatoes (as small as possible)
2 blocks fresh mozzarella, preferably mozzarella di bufala (cubed)
1 bunch fresh basil
Balsamic vinegar
salt

Steps:

  • On decorative toothpick skewer one cherry tomato, a basil leaf and a cube of mozzarella. Serve with varieties of marinated olives, sliced Italian meats and breadsticks.

Tips

  • Use the freshest ingredients possible. This will make all the difference in the flavor of your dish.
  • Choose ripe tomatoes. They should be firm, but not too soft.
  • Use high-quality mozzarella cheese. Fresh mozzarella is best, but you can also use a good quality shredded mozzarella.
  • Make sure your basil is fresh and fragrant. If you can't find fresh basil, you can use dried basil, but it won't be as flavorful.
  • Drizzle your Caprese bites with a good quality olive oil. This will help to bring out the flavors of the tomatoes and mozzarella.
  • Serve your Caprese bites immediately. They are best enjoyed fresh.
