Tips for Making Caribbean Curried Beef:

  • Choose high-quality beef: Opt for a tender cut of beef, such as chuck roast or sirloin, to ensure a flavorful and succulent dish.
  • Marinate the beef: Marinating the beef in a blend of spices and yogurt or buttermilk helps tenderize the meat and infuses it with flavor.
  • Use a variety of spices: Curry powder is the primary spice in this dish, but feel free to add others such as cumin, coriander, paprika, and turmeric for a more complex flavor profile.
  • Sauté the vegetables: Sautéing the vegetables before adding them to the curry allows them to caramelize and develop a rich flavor.
  • Cook the curry low and slow: Simmering the curry over low heat for an extended period allows the flavors to meld and deepen.
  • Garnish before serving: Fresh cilantro, chopped peanuts, or a dollop of yogurt adds a vibrant touch to the finished dish.
